PRESS: VEB.RF may enter capital of Russian Railways
MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- State corporation VEB.RF may enter the capital of state-owned Russian Railways by contributing 82 billion rubles, Kommersant business daily reported Monday citing the draft investment program.
“Russian Railways will be provided with 140 billion rubles of subsidies in 2022–2023. They will be allocated only in 2025–2026, but the presence of a government act will allow the monopoly to attract an additional 130 billion rubles on the market already in 2022,” the daily reported.
“In the same year, VEB.RF may enter the company’s capital, which will contribute 82 billion rubles and, according to Kommersant, will receive a large (five seats out of 14) and not proportional to the contribution representation on the board of directors of Russian Railways,” the daily said.
The final discussion of Russian Railways’ investment program for 2021–2023 is scheduled for Thursday.
